It's That Time of Year... Back to School!
We hope you had a wonderful Summer, but now it's time once again to hit the books and come back to Troop meetings! Our first meeting is Monday, September 19. We look forward to a whole new year, a great new group of beginning scouts and the return of our many scouts on the path to Eagle!
What Does a Scout Do in Troop 96?
Weekly Troop/Patrol Meetings
Troop 96 meets every Monday, at 7:15 p.m. sharp, until 8:45 p.m., with exceptions as noted in the calendar for school breaks and such.

We meet on every Monday evening, on Mondays on which the Grosse Pointe schools have classes. Our meetings are held at the Grosse Pointe Memorial Church. Generally, our sign-up night for the start of the Scouting year is the first Monday following Labor Day. The last official meeting of the year is the June Court-of-Honor.
We plan a weekend campout every month throughout the school year. And during the summer we attend a week-long summer camp, where Troop 96 scouts acquire new experiences, meet new friends and earn a wide range of merit badges! Also in the summer, we feature high adventure campouts that may be limited to Scouts who are 14 years or older, and generally who have attained the rank of First Class.
In addition to weekly meetings and monthly camping trips, Troop 96 scouts develop a sense of citizenship and strengthen their community by participating in special Service Projects throughout the year.
Courts of Honor
Troop 96 conducts a Court of Honor semi-annually to recognize Scout advancements and awards. The Court of Honor is a public ceremony, and is a chance for the Scouts to be recognized for their achievements. Families and all other interested individuals are encouraged to attend.
